- The Engineering Library participated in the College of Engineering’s Engineering Discovery Days. This 2-day event is aimed at K-12 students, with a focus this year on grades 4-8. Librarians created an exhibit about how engineers invent, design, and create solutions, highlighting young inventors: Kids Invent! Imagine Yourself as an Engineer!
- I was a guest speaker about patents and trademarks for a UW Information School course on government publications.
- A colleague and I guest lectured to the new cohort of students in the Master of Applied Bioengineering program. They work in teams designing a commercial development plan for a UW Medicine technology, so they use information from patents, engineering standards, the scientific literature, market reports, the FDA, and clinical resources.
- The University of Washington will have a new president in August 2025: Robert J. Jones, who is currently Chancellor of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, will become the 34th President of the UW.
