- This year we helped students in Rutgers “IDEA – The Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship Academy,” four-year program that integrates design and entrepreneurial thinking into the student experience. Mentored by faculty, students seek to create innovative solutions to real world problems. The PTRC showed students how to conduct patent searches for future potential products.
- A highlight of our year was a program sponsored by the I-Corps Northeast hub. I- Corps, an NSF-funded program, helps teams of innovators explore the commercial potential of their research/innovation through “customer discovery” interviews with key stakeholders. Rutgers participated on a panel of patent and trademark specialists, which also included the PTRC representative from Philadelphia and Elizabeth Dougherty from the USPTO.
- We look forward to working with IDEA and I-Corps again next year, as well as contributing to presentations for the Master’s in Business and Science program, and the Office of Research Commercialization
