A few highlights from the Burlington PTRC.
• Craig Morris of the USPTO came to Burlington for a Trademark presentation in November. The presentation was engaging and informative for all.
• Following the lead of Jan Comfort and others, we are looking at putting out institution’s patents into ScholarWorks, the Institutional Repository (IR) for the University of Vermont.
• Engineering and Business students are asking lots of good questions about patents as part of their capstone projects.
On a sad note Professor Ross Thomson of the Economics Department passed away this February. Professor Thomson studied the progress of mechanization and the development of capitalist economies. We enjoyed his good humor and kindness whenever he came in to review 19th Century patents which he did often.
