News from PTRCs

Reno, NV

University of Nevada, Reno

The PTRC at the University of Nevada, Reno continued to offer services throughout 2020, virtually from mid-March to June and both virtually and in-person, following all facial covering and social distancing protocols, from July through the end of the year. We currently have one PTRC librarian (Tara Radniecki) but will likely pull the business librarian back into the fold once such a hire has been made.

Salt Lake City, UT

University of Michigan

Utah’s PTRC is located at the J. Willard Marriott Library at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. The PTRC representative is Alfred Mowdood, who became the rep after Dave Morrison retired in 2017. Tallie Casucci also helps the PTRC efforts. The Marriott Library has been a PDL and now PTRC since 1984.

Stillwater, OK

Oklahoma State University

Working remotely from March through July, patent and trademark reference assistance for researchers and inventors continued by phone and email. I created a link on our PTRC website for the USPTO COVID Response Resource Center.

University Park, PA

Penn State University

John Meier is the PTRC rep for University Park, PA hosted by Penn State University in the Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library. I am joined by Lori Lysiak and Carmen Cole as librarians with advanced PTRC training. A few other Penn State librarians have recently been trained online by John and the PTRC program office. We have been a PTRC for over 40 years and have grown rapidly in recent years due the University president’s Invent Penn State initiatives.
