Auburn University is embracing innovation and inventors at all levels. The library is beginning an Innovation & Research Commons that combines a MakerSpace, Audio Visual Equipment, recording and video studio, and augmented reality lab that researchers on campus are utilizing.
The Auburn Research and Technology foundation is providing facilities to attract inventors and entrepreneurs to Auburn.
My favorite Auburn-originated innovation is the SHEMA97 mask, started by HelmetFitting.com CEO Dana Marquez, Associate Athletics Director for Equipment Operations at Auburn University. He partnered with a SHEMA, South Korean company to produce the SHEMA97 mask. These masks have been seen on the sidelines of football games being worn by coaches.
