Amherst, MA

This year the UMass Amherst PTRC continued to serve the community in spite of the UMass Amherst Libraries being closed to the community. Questions and consultations were answered over email, the phone, and via Zoom consultations.  With the libraries closed, and very few staff working on-site, an opportunity arose to do some work that otherwise would be impossible while patrons were in the building. A project was undertaken to move the plant patents and create a more inviting and colorful space.  A mismatched set of file cabinets were unified through color using agricultural-themed John Deere green paint for the bases then a variety of green drawers. Posters are being created to educate patrons about the history of plant patents.
